Art In The Park Rules and Regulations

Date:                 Saturday, July 5, 2008 (RAIN OR SHINE)

Time:                10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (do not tear down your booth early)

Location:        Lake Odessa Village Park, M-50 and Fourth Avenue, Lake Odessa, Michigan

Eligibility:        To be eligible to participate in the 33rd Annual Art in The Park, applicants must submit:

                           1.  Completed signed application (Applications must be legible)

                           2.  4 high-quality photographs (see "Photos" below)

                           3.  Self-addressed, stamped envelope

                           4.  Check or money order made payable to the Lake Odessa Area Arts Commission.

                           Checks  will be returned to applicants who are not selected.         

NOTE:  Artwork must be personally created by the applicant.  Pre-fabricated, manufactured, mass-produced, or mail-order items are strictly prohibited!!

Photos:            All applicants must submit four quality, color photos (no slides) as follows: 

                           Two of their work in progress, one of their booth display, and one of their completed artwork.  Photos must be labeled with the applicant's name, address and telephone number.  Photos will not be mailed back to applicants, but will be available for pick up at the registration table the day of the show. All photos not picked up the day of the show become the property of the Lake Odessa Arts Commission.

Application        All applications must be postmarked by April 12, 2008.  Applicants whose entries are
Deadline:           postmarked after the deadline date must pay a $25 late fee. All applications are juried. Applicants who submitted their application by the deadline will be notified of their acceptance or rejection on or before May 10, 2008.  Applicants who submit their applications after the deadline will be notified of their acceptance or rejection as soon as possible after their application is juried.

Booth Rental      Booth size is 10' x 10' maximum (no exceptions)
and Parking:       Cost is $75.00 per space.  Limited parking will be available for $25 per space on a first come first serve basis.  There is absolutely no parking allowed in the park.  Crafters who attempt to park in no parking areas (including along M-50 and in the park) will have their vehicle(s) towed at their expense.

Check-In:            All participants are required to sign in (prior to setting up) at the registration table. Volunteers will be available for check in on Friday, July 4, 2008 from 7:00pm-8:30pm and on Saturday July 5, 2008 from 6:00am-9:30am. The registration table is located under the park pavilion. 

At the time of check-in, participants must provide registration volunteers with the make, model, and license number of their vehicle(s) and trailer(s). Participants requiring handicap accessibility, must provide a copy of their state-issued handicap permit.

Set-Up:             Set up times are Friday, July 4, 2008 from 7:00p.m.-9:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 5, 2008 from 6:00 a.m.-9:30 a.m.  There will be absolutely no early (or late) set up on either day.  The Lake Odessa Area Arts Commission does not provide security in the park; therefore, participants who decide to set up on Friday do so at their own risk.  It is recommended that participants do not leave their products in their booths overnight. Even though Art in the Park officially begins at 10:00 a.m., many shoppers arrive as early as 8:00 a.m.  participants will be allowed to drive into the park on paved areas only to unload their vehicles. Participants are asked to unload their vehicles and move them immediately to allow for others to unload.  There will be no driving allowed on unpaved areas. All vehicles must be unloaded and removed from the park by 9:00 a.m. (NO EXCEPTIONS).  Please remember: This is a village park.  Most spots are not perfectly level. Please be prepared to make adjustments where needed.

Please Note: 1.   Exhibitors are encouraged to demonstrate their skills, if possible.

                      2.   There will be no refunds issued for any reason.

                      3.   Exhibitors are responsible for their own Michigan Sales Tax.

                      4.   Exhibitors must provide their own displays, table coverings, and tables.

                      5.   No pets allowed at the show.

The Lake Odessa Area Arts Commission reserves the right to deny any artist or craft which does not comply with the above rules and regulations.  Also, the Lake Odessa Area Arts Commission reserves the right to alter or change any of the above rules under special circumstances.
