Lake Odessa Fire Board

The Lake Odessa Fire Department provides paid-on-call  fire and emergency response services to all residents of the Village of Lake Odessa and Odessa Township.  The Fire Department is jointly funded through local tax collections, with Odessa Township providing 55% of the Fire Department’s annual operating budget, and the Village of Lake Odessa contributing 45%.

The Fire Department is overseen by the Lake Odessa Fire Board, a six-person governing body comprised of  the Odessa Township supervisor and one member of the Odessa Township board, the Lake Odessa Village President and one member of the Lake Odessa Village Council, one at-large citizen, and one non-voting member, the Fire Chief.   The Lake Odessa Fire Board is responsible for setting policy and overseeing the operations of the Lake Odessa Fire Department, its facilities, programs and services, to provide fire protection to Odessa Township and the Village of Lake Odessa at the highest standard of efficiency.
