Water Billing

The Village of Lake Odessa bills quarterly for water service. The water bill is divided into two categories: fixed costs (called "Water Service Charge") and variable costs (called "Water Inside Village" and better known as water usage). The fixed portion of the rate is used to cover fixed costs associated with maintaining the Village's water system. The usage portion of the rate is used to cover the variable costs of providing the services to our residents. Residential water usage is billed at $3.61 per 1,000 gallon increments. Non-Residential usage rates are $7.22 per 1,000 gallon increments. The water service charge is determined by the meter size of a home. All water rates are set annually by the Lake Odessa Village Council.

Please note that the Village of Lake Odessa bills, in conjunction with the Lakewood Wastewater Authority (LWA) (which is represented on your bill as "Sewer"), which is a separate entity from the Village of Lake Odessa. The wastewater system is maintained by -- and the sewer rates are set each year by -- the LWA, not the Village of Lake Odessa.

Water Rates

Picture
Village water rates are set annually by the Village Council. The last water rate adjustment was approved by the Village Council on March 16, 2020. To view a copy of the resolution approving these rates, please click here.

The residential Water Service Charge is based on the meter size. The table to the right shows the meter size and the corresponding flat quarterly rate. Most residential properties in the Village have either a 5/8 or 3/4 sized meter.

Please note that, even if a customer has their water turned off (either by request or for non-payment), the water service charge continues to be billed to the property owner that has water service leading to their property.

Late Fees and Payment

Any bill not paid when due shall be deemed delinquent and be subject to a delinquency charge equal 10% of the amount of the bill or $5.00, whichever sum is greater. No additional interest shall accrue.

Both the Village of Lake Odessa and the Lakewood Wastewater Authority will make payment arrangements if you cannot pay your total bill. A copy of this form can be downloaded here -- please complete it, and submit it in person to the Page Building (839 Fourth Avenue).

Paperless Billing
If you would prefer to have a copy of your quarterly bill delivered electronically (via email), instead of a paper bill to your mailbox, you may download a copy of the authorization form here. Please complete and send back to the Page Building via the instructions on the form.

ACH Payments
If you are interested in having your payment withdrawn automatically from your checking or savings account, please download this form, complete it, and return to the Village offices.
