SOLICITATION OF BIDS![]() ![]() Water & Sewer E-Bill OptionThe Village of Lake Odessa (Village) and Lakewood Wastewater Authority (LWA) are now offering customers the option to have their water and sewer bills delivered to them via email. 2021 COMMUNITY CLEAN UP - MAY 13TH, 14TH, AND 15THThe 2021 Clean-Up has been scheduled for May 13th and 14th from 7:00am to 7:00pm and the 15th from 8:00am to 12:00pm. May Clean-Up is a service provided free of charge to residents of the Village of Lake Odessa. Proof of residency is required. The cost for any non-resident wishing to discard any of the approved items will be $50.00 per load.
Please be advised that appliances containing freon gas such as refrigerators, freezers or air conditioners, will no longer be accepted unless the appliance has been properly drained of freon. If the appliance has been properly drained of freon, it will have a certified sticker placed upon it. Without this sticker, the appliance can no longer be disposed of by the Village. Dumpsters will be located at the Department of Public Works (DPW) building at 1214 Jordan Lake St. The entrance will be located at the municipal beach parking lot. Items that are allowed and not allowed are listed below: 2021 Clean-Up Permitted Items Couches, Chairs, Lawn Mowers, BBQ Grills, Bikes, Tubs, Sinks, Lawn Furniture, Building Materials, Recyclable Metals, Etc. Items NOT Permitted Tires, Cement, Stones, Yard Waste, Brush, Household Waste/Trash, Paints/Thinners, Herbicides/Pesticides, Chemicals, Oils, Roofing Shingles, Liquids, Asbestos Products. If you have any questions or for more information, call the DPW at (616) 374-7228. REQUEST FOR BIDS: DPW BUILDING ADDITIONThe Village of Lake Odessa is currently accepting bids for an addition to its Department of Public Works building on Jordan Lake Street. ZONING PERMITSAre you looking to build a new fence, deck, garage, or shed this spring/ summer? Before you start constructing, please note that these items require a zoning permit. Please contact the Village's Zoning Administrator, Jeanne VanderSloot, at (616) 897- 4242 to make sure that you have all of the proper permits completed and are in compliance with the Village's Zoning Ordinance. In accordance with Public Act 202 of 2017, all units of government that have a retirement system or retiree health care system must file reports to the Michigan Department of Treasury annually. The Retirement System Annual Report for 2018 is available for inspection by clicking here.
