Ordinance 2023-05, which goes into effect October 1, 2023, regulates the operation of golf carts in the Village of Lake Odessa.

Yes. On or after October 2, 2023, existing registrants will need to visit the Page Memorial Building to update their registration. They will need to bring:

To register your cart, you'll need to visit the Page Memorial Building with the following:

  1. Completed golf cart registration form.
  2. Valid driver’s license.
  3. Vehicle or Equipment Certificate of Insurance (ACORD Form 23)

(Form will be available Monday, October 2, 2023 online or at the Page Memorial Building)

Golf carts may not be driven at night (from 30 minutes before sunset until 30 minutes after sunrise).

No. The following streets are closed to golf carts:

  1. Jordan Lake Street/M-50. The State of Michigan has not authorized golf carts to be driven on  M-50 in the Village of Lake Odessa.
  2. Jordan Lake Avenue between Bonanza and Emerson.
     

Additionally, the following areas are closed to golf carts:

  • Sidewalks
  • Village Park
  • Municipal Beach Sand/Grass Areas
  • Jordan Lake Trail Extension
